Grobest Releases 2023 Sustainability Report

August 05, 2024

Grobest Group today published its third Sustainability Report, providing a comprehensive review of the company’s performance and key sustainability milestones in 2023.

50 years on, the company remains committed to improving aquatic animal health and resilience with advanced nutrition. Although the aquaculture industry in Asia saw challenges from disease and extreme weather events in 2023, Grobest’s unrelentless focus on innovation continues to alleviate the economic pressures on farmers. The company successfully introduced its Mid-Tier Immune Functional Feed, and enhanced its sustainable shrimp farming model - GROFARM™ PRO.

“Our products and solutions enable farmers to enhance animal survival rates, increasing the likelihood of successful harvests. This support helps farmers achieve better returns, boost profitability, and sustain the growth of the aquaculture industry amidst dynamic market conditions,” said Chi-Kang Ko, Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer.

“We strike a balance between improving growth and survival rates while reducing waste generation and pollution in ponds, minimising farmer costs and adverse environmental impacts. Our employees do all of this without compromising our commitment to the safety of our people and to the quality that our customers trust and expect from our products and services,” said Hua Du, Group CEO.

“Our 2023 Sustainability Report demonstrates our ongoing commitment to and progress in our sustainability journey. Despite another challenging year in the aquaculture sector, we continued to make progress, conducting the first carbon footprint assessment of emissions in the supply chain (Scope 3), engaging our key suppliers on the importance of upholding human and labour rights in their operations, and resuming onsite audits in the areas of safety and compliance. There is a lot more that we are working on to advance our sustainability performance but for now, we are taking a moment to celebrate our progress and achievements by sharing this sustainability report with you,” said Edena Low, Chief Legal, Compliance and ESG Officer.
